Poinsettia Pin

Poinsettia Pin
Originally uploaded by marleah.

This is my pretty pin made from craft felt and a button. It was inspired by an embellishment on a gift bag that I got at Walmart. It turned out really cute, and it can easily be adapted with different colors and shapes of felt. On the gift bag, instead of a button center, it had three red rhinestones and the felt was an ivory color. For the pin back, I just sewed on a safety pin.

Vonda's Scarf

Vonda's Scarf - Folded

This is the scarf I made for my mother-in-law this Christmas. It's made with Lion Brand Homespun in "Grape," double-crocheted with a K hook. I gave it to her this morning, and I am glad to say that she liked it! I was really proud of how straight and even it turned out. I like working with Homespun, and the colors they have are beautiful.

I'll be posting more gifts either tomorrow or Tuesday, depending on how much time I have. Yay!

Christmas, Don't Be Late

I can't WAIT for Christmas to come! No, not because I know Ryan got me an iPod - that's in my car right now waiting to be opened. It's because I have all of these awesome crafted gifts, and I can't post them until I give them to the recipients!! They are on Flickr, but they are privatized so no one else can see them. It's my little secret ... I am super excited. Of course, those are the ones that I have done. There are a few that ... um ... aren't finished yet. Thankfully I have tonight, tomorrow evening, and then Saturday to work on them. All the ones that I am giving out on Christmas Eve are done ... Mom and Kelsy are done ... anyway, I'm going to end this post before I give too much away. Get ready for the barrage after the holiday!

Also, in between all the family crafting, I have made six scarves to donate to residents at the Good Samaritan Center. I am dropping them off tomorrow evening, and I hope that they can warm up a few people who deserve it.

Marvin the Paranoid Android

... from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! AND ... my first ever amigurumi! I made this for the crochet challenge (#1 - Amigurumi) on Craftster. I think he turned out looking all right. I obviously need more practice, but he was challenging and fun to make. He's all Red Heart worsted weight yarn, except for his eyes which are green felt.

I've been trying to post this project forever, but I had to change my settings in Flickr since I'm using the new Blogger beta. Whoop-de-do.

Christmas Crafting

I've been doing tons of crafting for Christmas, so I have not posted any pictures for a while. I also decided that anything I finish before Christmas will be posted after, just in case any of the recipients stumble across this blog. I only have one or two things left to make per person. Which may seem like a lot, but I did (made or bought) about five things for Kelsy and Cameryn each. Anyway - expect to be overwhelmed with pictures after Christmas!
