evolution

Ok, here's the deal.

1) I haven't blogged for months. Literally. Months. This makes me a little sad.

2) I crochet, cross-stitch, and do various other crafts. I often start one and then have no motivation to finish it. This makes me even sadder.

3) Ryan and I are going to soon be purchasing a digital camera (I know, I know ... finally). I LIVE for posting pictures of my finished items on Craftster and showing them off.

All together everyone: how can I combine all of these things?? The blog, of course!! Starting ... well, as soon as that camera gets itself bought. Maybe this weekend. We'll see.

My plan is to post pictures of the projects that I happen to be working on, along with any comments I have on changes to patterns, yarns, gifting the items, etc. I can post pictures of my progress, which will hopefully motivate me to work on my stuff even more (and do even less reading for school, but whatever). Of course, I will still be posting my finished items on Craftster so that all the really professional-like people can point and snicker at my piles of crap that I churn out. Because, like I said. I live for it.

Just for the heck of it ... here is a list of what I am working on RIGHT NOW.

1) Armwarmers (crochet). Basic worsted weight Red Heart yarn, cream with colored flecks. I did one, and I'm not sure if I'm really sold on it enough to actually do another one. I can always start a single armwarmer trend, right?

2) Orange and black scarf (crochet). Bernat Super Stripes self-striping yarn. This stuff is a bit of a pain to work with.

3) Tiger (cross-stitch). I've had the chart for at least a year now, and I finally decided that I would actually stitch it. It should turn out ok.

And, as an honorable mention ... today I bought some nice Caron Simply Soft yarn in "dark country blue." This yarn will soon become a hooded scarf, if all goes as planned. This yarn is a bit more upscale from the Red Heart Super Saver that I usually use, and the color is really pretty. Hopefully the scarf turns out all right, and I hope it goes with my red coat.

Anyway - so now I've laid out a plan. This weekend everything should come together ... so I say now. Check back for more!
